People that love Apple love OS X. The hardware is nice too and well designed, but to me, I didn't start using Macs for the hardware design. That's what PC users don't get about Apple fans. They think we've been seduced by something fancy. If Apple computers only ran Windows, I would never buy any of their products.

So, I guess my point is this: Apple fanboys turn to Macs because of OS X. OS X in turn, locks you in to Apple's hardware, which in turn means you have to accept some of the limitations that come with that. That's not blind fanboyism, it's just a trade-off, but there are trade-offs with Windows as well. While you have an abundance of hardware available, you have to accept the general instability of Windows, the usability problems, and the lack of security.

Macs users have to accept that certain MacBooks have integrated graphics and the fact that Mac Pros, while solid powerful machines, have a limited number of video card that they support. It all depend on what is important to you.

I'm willing to accept all those things because of OS X. All the other points aren't exactly irrelevant, but that's my primary motivator. I guess for you, Apple's hardware design focus has become paramount in this one particular instance. So you've found something that fulfills your needs and as far as I can see, there's nothing wrong with that.
